Founded by Anne and Andy Wigmore, this family-run creamery was born from a passion for creating exceptional, handcrafted cheeses using time-honoured techniques and the finest locally sourced milk.

 

The journey began with the creation of the award-winning Wigmore, a semi-soft sheep’s milk cheese celebrated for its delicate flavour and creamy texture. Since then, Village Maid Cheese has expanded its range to include other renowned varieties, such as the bold, blue-veined Barkham Blue and the distinctive, washed-rind Maida Vale.

 

Each cheese is a reflection of heritage, quality, and innovation, crafted with meticulous care to honour the region’s rich dairy traditions.
