Founded by Judy Bell, this family-run dairy began as a passion project to diversify the family farm, evolving into a renowned cheesemaker known for its innovative, high-quality cheeses.

 

It all started with Yorkshire Fettle, a creamy, tangy feta-style cheese made from sheep’s milk, which quickly gained a devoted following. Over the years, the range expanded to include an exceptional selection of cow’s, sheep’s, and buffalo milk cheeses, each with its own distinctive character. Today, Shepherd’s Purse is celebrated for handcrafted favourites such as the rich and creamy Blue Stilton, the award-winning Harrogate Blue, and the delicate, well-balanced Yorkshire Blue.
